Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue Celebrates its Members at Annual Christmas Dinner

As we close out our 49th year of service to the citizens of Hamilton County, Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue spent the evening at Cedar Hills Farm celebrating our annual Christmas dinner. This dinner provides an opportunity for our members to gather and fellowship among themselves and with their families. This year's dinner was catered by Home Folks Restaurant, a local business that has been a very strong partner of ours for years.

Every year during our dinner, several awards are presented to honor the service of our members and members of the community.

Lieutenant Smith, our Explorer Program Coordinator, presented several awards to his Explorers. These included awards for performing CPR for the first time resulting in a successful resuscitation, completing the 9/11 stair climb, obtaining certifications, etc.

Our Fire Officers presented the following awards:

  • Most Improved to Bentley Johnson for his dedication to our agency and his willingness to do anything asked of him and his regularly volunteer for tasks that are not normally under his responsibility.

  • Firefighter of the Year to Firefighter Trevor Gravitte for his fireground performance and his service many times as a interim Officer when needed. Firefighter Gravitte is a valued member of our team.

Our EMS Division Officers presented EMS Responder of the Year to Lieutenant Brad Brown for his dedication to the Emergency Medical Care of the citizens of our district.

Our Chief Officers presented Officer of the Year to Lieutenant Austin Waldo for his dedication to our department and his growth in his fire career. Lieutenant Waldo serves as our department Quartermaster responsible for all protective equipment, radios, pagers, etc that are issued to our members. Through his service, he has eliminated waste through responsible asset management.

Our Board of Directors presented our Citizen of the Year Award to the Commissioners of the City of Lakesite for their constant support of our mission to protect not only the citizens of their city but also our district in unincorporated Hamilton County.

2024 has been a year of great growth and success for our agency with many challenges along the way. As we close another record setting year, we thank you for your support and look forward to 2025 as we celebrate our 50th year of service.
