Water Operations

Established in 2022, the Water Operations Division is the newest operational division of Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue. Created to enhance public safety and expand specialized emergency response capabilities, the division serves an 18-mile stretch of the Tennessee River and Chickamauga Lake, while also providing water-based emergency response coverage for the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department service area.

Comprised of highly trained firefighters and rescuers, the Water Operations Division delivers marine fire suppression, emergency medical services, search and rescue, dive operations, and swiftwater rescue capabilities. Through extensive training and specialized equipment, our personnel are prepared to operate in some of the most challenging environments encountered in emergency services.

Marine Fire Suppression & EMS Team

Provides fire suppression, emergency medical response, and rescue services along the Tennessee River and Chickamauga Lake. Team members are specially trained to respond to emergencies in areas that are often inaccessible to land-based resources.

Public Safety Dive Team

Conducts underwater search, rescue, recovery, and evidence retrieval operations in support of public safety missions. Team members are trained and equipped to operate in challenging underwater environments, assisting with incidents ranging from missing persons searches to vehicle recoveries and law enforcement investigations.

Through our participation in the Tri-State Mutual Aid Association, the team also provides specialized dive services to requesting agencies throughout the region, serving as a valuable resource when additional expertise and equipment are needed.

Swiftwater Rescue Team

Responds to emergencies involving moving water, flooding, and other high-risk water environments. Team members are trained in specialized rescue techniques that allow them to safely reach, stabilize, and remove victims from dangerous water conditions.

As a regional resource through the Tri-State Mutual Aid Association, the Swiftwater Rescue Team is available to assist neighboring agencies during flood events, severe weather incidents, and large-scale water emergencies.
