A Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue engine was involved in a single-vehicle accident today while responding to a mutual aid call for a structure fire. The incident resulted in only minor injuries to personnel, and no firefighters required transport for medical care.

The accident occurred when the engine’s driver took evasive action to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle that had crossed the double yellow line. In doing so, the apparatus left the roadway and struck a culvert.

In accordance with department policy, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit will conduct the investigation.
