Dallas Bay divers have been using wetsuits which offer limited protection against extreme temperatures, as water can penetrate the material. These newly acquired drysuits provide full-body insulation, enabling divers to operate safely in a wide range of temperatures and water conditions. A critical concern for public safety divers is the presence of hazardous materials—such as fuel and oil—that may be present in the water following boating accidents. These drysuits offer a protective barrier, allowing divers to continue search and recovery operations safely, even in contaminated environments.

Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue would like to thank Rhea's Diving Services for their partnership in outfitting and training our divers on these new drysuits.
