This morning, Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue Water Operations personnel joined a multi-agency effort to protect swimmers competing in the IRONMAN Chattanooga triathlon. For the swim portion of the event, competitors completed a 2.4 mile swim on the Tennessee River. This event required a massive presence of trained personnel to monitor and stand ready in the event of an emergency.
Dallas Bay Water Operations personnel were joined by personnel with Chattanooga Fire Department, Catoosa County Fire Department, Cleveland Fire Department, Hamilton County Special Tactics and Rescue Service, as well as marine law enforcement personnel with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, and the Chattanooga Police Department.
We continue to enjoy a great partnership with IRONMAN and look forward to many more successful events in the years to come!
