Friday morning at 10:58am Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue personnel were dispatched to 9330 Chirping Road in the Sedman Hills community.
The neighbor advised that the alarm had been going off leading them to call 911. Units arrived on scene in minutes initially finding no smoke showing from the road. When home was approached, windows were sooted over and the door was hot to the touch.
Personnel forced entry immediately and multiple crews began an aggressive interior attack and search of the home. Firefighters gained control of the fire quickly.
There were no injuries as there was nobody home at the time of the fire, but sadly four dogs died from smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. The fire originated in the downstairs area of the home
There was limited structural damage, with severe smoke damage throughout the home. Damages are estimated at $80,000.
Response included companies from Dallas Bay Stations 1 & 2 along with Hamilton County EMS and deputies with HCSO.
Chattanooga Fire Department and Soddy Daisy FD were on standby in their halls for any additional alarms in Dallas Bay’s district.
